About Me

My photo
I'm in my 20's. Sometimes I'm okay with that, sometimes I'm not. I have 2 daughters. I have a wonderful man! I'm from the East Coast. Oklahoma has tornados, NOT beaches!! I write. I read. I work hard. I'm addicted to blogger & facebook. Hmm weird! I hate drama, although I am very dramatic. I love pink, shoes, Celine Dion, and Coach purses. This is new to me, because I have always been a tomboy!

WBW: A Piece of Old Spain

***There's a reason for a 2nd WBW Post! I couldn't wait til next week!***
So it's no hidden fact that I have the blood of Spaniards running through my veins. Well 50% Spanish (Spain, not Mexico, ty) and 50% Sicilian (which I'm still trying to figure the difference between Sicilian and Italian. If you know, there's this fun link at the bottom of this post called "_ HOLLAS!" Thanks! =D ha!). Either way, there are some things from my childhood that I will never forget and a set of dolls is one of them.
These dolls were a staple of my otherwise all caucasian, regular, American family. As a matter of fact, it was not a knowledge of mine until I was older that this other ethnicity maybe might could be in me. I will be honest, I always knew I was different. I have this humongus nose that I couldn't trace back to anyone on either side of my families and has affectionately been referred to as my Sicilian Schnozz by myself and the BF.
I haven't seen these dolls in years. For some reason, they have been on my mind so I called my mother and asked her what happened to them. She had no clue. Somewhere in their 35 bazillion moves they were misplaced. Or left. Or lost.
Well anyone that knows me knows I loverrr me some Google. So I googled. And I found my dolls. (For $45.00/each) And I cannot wait until I can buy them. They are a piece of my childhood I found comforting. A piece of a heritage I never really knew. I know this is totally random, and they might even be a tad bit eerie, but to me, they carry much more than just the Flamenco Shoes and Baskets of Grapes. They carry a nostalgia that I crave, a knowledge of me way back in the day before the stresses that come with aging (not that I'm old or anything but hey...LOL)
So enjoy the pictures below for my 2nd WBW post today. Enjoy your heritages. Embrace different types of people. Try something out of the ordinary. Love, not necessarily what people do, but who people are. Deep inside everyone, there is something worth loving. =D

WBW

BAHAHAHAHAHA I had to share this, although this is exactly one of those pictures that you keep for specific purposes (cough...blackmail...cough) later in life. I was 6 months pregnant at the time and Olivia was about to go for surgery for her implant shortly after this photo was taken.

You tell me this: how does a child go from being born with straight red hair to straight white hair. Then after first surgery has white curly hair and after second has dark brown curly hair. I understand hair changes but I've never seen a child's hair change so much!!!! LOL =D

P.S. Olivia still loves bananas and yes I still laugh every time she eats one. hahaha

My Lips Are Sealed

This is just a fun picture of me because I'm trying to incorporate more pics of myself in my blog. Yes I am aware that I am at work. Yes I am aware that my eyebrow is weird. (Chicken Pox scar from childhood keeps my eyebrow from looking normal. Thank you bawk-bawk-pox!) And yes, I am aware that my lovely assistant took that moment to sit - yes I said SIT - on me in order to finish up some forms on the computer for the day's count.

Unless you are already aware of this because it in some way affects you personally (because let's face it, I am not jinxing myself and those of you that know ONLY know because I told you in confidence and you are not allowed to repeat) then this post may make no sense to you.

But that's okay! Because it's not supposed to.

At this exact moment I am:
  • Excited.

  • Scared.

  • Nervous.

  • Stressed.

  • Overwhelmed.

  • Rushed.

And I can't even talk about it yet. I can't tell you even though I so terribly want to. I can't fill you in because let's face it...how I share it will be so totally awesome! And isn't awesome-ness worth the wait?

Yes, yes it is!

Stolen Lines #5

Tell me... have you ever thought...of changing your life?

Stolen Lines is by Grace over at Law With Grace. I've been reading her blog for awhile now and have thought every single time "I'm going to DO this one! This quote is definitely the one I'll do!" and yet, not once have I done it.

Until now.

But that is also because I have something to say. =D

So without further ado, Stolen Lines #5:

Tell me... have you ever thought...of changing your life?

In all actuality, I think about changing my life all the time. Change is an obsession with me. Things need to change as long as it's a tiny change and not a stressful huge one. I have changed many things in my past and I'm certain my future holds a few changes in and of its own.

I've changed cars, homes, states, cities, friends, jobs, etc... I have changed a great many things. Point of views, beliefs, even compromising my morals in order to stand next to a friend in her time of need, give advice to someone about something I would never have offered advice to before. Even through my own children I have experienced change: what is normal, what is acceptable, what is socially acceptable. Taking on the deaf community head on was a challenge in itself and is what attributed to my changing from a quiet, mousy girl into the boisterous, advocating, firm, i-know-what-i'm-taking-about-so-open-your-ears!!! woman that you see today.

Yes, I have changed. Some for the worse and some for the better. Each and every change was scary. But only few changes that I have made before are as scary and unknown as the step I am about to take right now. I am taking my chance. I am changing my thoughts. JOY, as my dear friend Stacia says, IS MAKING CHANGES!

Tell me... have you ever thought...of changing your life?

All my life I have flirted with the idea that I could be somebody. I could change the world. I could see my face somewhere and people would say "Hey, I know her!" Well here is my chance and I am grabbing it by the horns!

So I will tell you...I have thought every day about changing my life. And if you look and read CLOSELY here you will totally be in on my little secret!!!!! And I am soooo excited!!!!
