Randomness on a Thursday.

Saturday night I got a sitter (I love you Jenny-furrr!) and Garland and I headed out to Buffalo Wild Wings for Wings, Friends, Bday (Happy Oldness, BIL Lee), and UFC!!!! While we were there, Lee's friends came in for the same, and one of his co-workers Cameron decided that Blazin' wings weren't all that hot and ordered up another round of them so that he could take the Blazin' Challenge: 12 wings in 6 minutes.

It was only a LEEEETLE messy.

I cheesed for Kelli. It was the only thing I could do when she asked "What are you doing tonight?" I'd already had one of these...

and with my recent weight loss (losing) I cannot handle the liquor as well as before so I had to say Hasta Pasta to my lover, Tequila. =( Please note I am really distraught by this and in the background of your mind, imagine a Mariachi Band playing a sweet, sad melody in remembrance of my Random Tequila Nights. Sniff. My Dad is probably praising God for this, btw. hahaha!

Problem Solved.

So remember THIS post where I begged and virtually whined, cried, and pleaded for someone to find me some cheap tickets for 4? Yeah. WELLLLL...solved that problem. I just cancelled the trip. It was easy as pie.

Instead, I am flying out my parents & Garland's daughter. Separate visits, but we get to see them all the same. And I did Kayak, and do love it, and they found my cheapest flights on PriceLine.com. Thank you priceline for saving me moola.

The flash kinda ruined it a little but I'm not being perfectionistic today so...yeahhh... LOL And I was BLONDE. No wonder I was crying!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHA (I was actually crying because I'd fallen and busted my nose before the picture was taken...LOL) Clumsy even as a child!)

Time Travel Thursday

So I've decided for today that I'm taking WBW and turning it into Time Travel Thursday. But this is not a permanent thing. It's just for today so that I can post pictures from a long time ago and feel better about the fact that not only did I miss LAST WEEK'S, I missed this week's. Damn me. And it is my blog. Sooo yeah that means one thing: You get to DEAL. hahaha

So without further ado...

So this is me, in March of 1997 acting like a fool (in my gangsta Elmo shirt) waiting at the airport to fly to Israel. With my friend Delilah, who is smiling all pretty while I'm being dorkalicious. (BTW, Delilah does kick ass cakes now. Just you wait. She'll have her own show before too long. So check her link out. They are beautiful!)

This is Brenda, Myself, Delilah, & Misty! My goodness how I missed these girls but thanks to FB my very good friends are at my fingertips!!! This picture was taken in Israel. We are on top of Mount Masada (I think I remember that correctly) and behind us is the Dead Sea. We ended up floating in the Dead Sea later on that day/week and it was a once in a lifetime opportunity but man was it disgusting!!!!! Salty and grimy and obviously oily.

I forgot...

So yeah, I'm a bad parent. I forgot to post pictures of Olivia's birthday party. She is 7 now! WOW how time flies. When I think of where I was 7 years ago, what I was doing, who I was compared to now, I am shocked and amazed at how far we have come. From welfare to well-to-do. From abused to respected. From deaf to hearing. It's simply amazing and when I think back to those days, they seem so far away. So surreal. Like did I really go through ALL of that? Anyway, here are some pics from Olivia's bday dinner @ Incredible Pizza!

Not-Me Monday.

It's a Not-Me Monday and I'm trying this out. Thanks to MckMama over at Her Charming Kids started this and I found it intriguing and quite funny.

This weekend I did NOT:

• help Garland make a casket for a dead hamster. I most certainly did NOT inscribe that we loved her and her date of birth and death. I also did NOT secretly giggle when my children recited the pledge of allegiance in lieu of a prayer.


• drink so much tequila that I woke up with my first hangover EVER and I never ever everrrr made mention that I'll never have tequila again. (Really! I didn't! I've drank SO much more before with NO ill side effects...er....I mean I have NOT!) haha


• shove all my kids' things in the bottom of their closet so that their room looked presentable when company came over unexpectedly.


• run my children through the shower at super-speed because bathes take sooooo long and then they want to play and use the bath crayons and then it just gets super messy and the only one to clean it is....moi.


• almost shed a tear over the fact that my lovely man decided I deserved a blackberry. Finally.


• put off food shopping because I didn't want to go to the store because that would require getting my hungover butt out of my bed where I was perfectly happy laying with my family, a movie on, and the world at my fingertips via my brand new phone!


• not call my own Mother for Mother's Day. Instead, she called me.


• miss Desperate Housewives' finale causing myself to have to make some time during my nap/planning time today to have to watch it. I'm not mad at myself for missing it either, after all...it IS just a show...right?


• get super excited at the commercial on HBO for True Blood's Premiere: (June 14th people! June 14th!!!!)


• laugh when my daughter was singing along to "Don't Trust a Ho" by 3Oh!3 in the car and she paused over the "F" word and after it passed, said "I KNOW what he said mommy!!! And that was SO NOT A GOOD WORD!!!!!!!!"


• and last but not least, I surely did NOT post a post on blogger about my Mother's day and mess with the post options to show it as being posted on Sunday so that this could be my first Monday post to make sure it got seen! Nope. Not me. I would never do anything like that!!!!!!

Weekend Recap.

Fiona-Baby (our pet hamster) died Friday. We buried her Friday night. The girls wanted to do a ceremony and Garland and I felt it was a perfect opportunity to teach them about the permanency of death. So Garland built a small casket and grave marker and we wrote it out like you would a regular one. The girls really got into it, and since they weren't well versed in an appropriate prayer for a "funeral", they proceeded to recite the Pledge of Allegiance (to Fiona...and the United States of America...) It was too cute and priceless to stop and correct them.

I took Olivia to From Silence to Sound at the Cinema 12 downtown. It was interesting and had me in tears. Olivia was so excited because she doesn't see many people with cochlear implants and I wanted her to see that she can grow up to be anything that she wants and can make life happen for herself, etc. We got to meet Justin Garrett, the man whom the movie was about, and he and Olivia got along very very well. She had a lot of fun being able to see footage from the movie with places and people that she recognized. She got way too excited and started clapping and squealing "OMG Mommy it's Dr. Wolf!!! It's Oklahoma City!" Everyone around us thought it was amusing. Here's a picture of Olivia with Justin Garrett:

Mother's Day rocked at mi casa. Yes. I said ROCKED. I found a pair of Coach heels that match my purse a few weekends ago while out shopping with Garland's daughter, Stephanie. Her advice: buy them and return them if he said what the hell were you thinking? I decided to wait and just drop hints. LOL For 2 weeks. HA! And he went and got them! Woot woot! I'm so excited!!!!!

I also got....wait for it...wait for it... and OMG am I a happy freaking camper! Yes people this IS the Blackberry Curve 8900!! I haven't fully figured out this phone. Nor am I in a hurry because I don't have to sit in front of a computer to google anything, look up anything, check FB or Myspace! I am so exciteddddd! My yahoo & blackberry messenger & texts are taking up most of my phone time which is A-OK with me. Hey, don't judge. It's how I have conversations with the type of work I am in. And trust me, I need my adult interaction, even if it is more technological than personal. Whatev. =D

On Sunday Stephanie & Jake joined us at Osaka for Mother's Day dinner. (She needed a Mother's Day dinner too with all the mothering she has to do for her pups!) I will have to admit, I prefer Tokyo Gardens to Osaka. I was MAJOR disappointed. The cook was obviously having an off day so I docked him tip for being unemotional, robotic, and NON-FUN! Hellooo Mr. You're-supposed-to-make-us-ohhh-and-aww-and-laugh-and-"Egg-Roll"-and-see-"butter-fly" but instead my kids are saying "Why does he look mad? Is he sad mommy?" and when I try to play it off and say "He's just focusing, Sweetheart..." they say "Well he could smile while focusing, that's what he gets paid for, right?" Thank you Natalie Ann. You smart little cookie. Whilst she is fanning her fake yawn and saying "BORINGGGG! Wake me when you get interesting."

Hahaha. So it was a great weekend. And now we are playing WIII and I'm getting tired so...=D Hope all you Mommies out there enjoyed a day just for yourselves! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is what happens when you try to mow after the torrential amount of rain we have had the past week or so....

It doesn't LOOK like it's stuck too bad, but trust me, a thousand or more pound mower stuck in thick mud isn't easy to get unstuck. It took his truck to get it out, and tore up the front lawn. Hopefully by the time it's dry, we can just smooth it out and replant some Fescue. Or Bermuda. Or whatever the hell type grass is on this lawn.

I broke down...

and bought a Wii like not this past Sunday but the Sunday before. Since the Wii came into my life, I have aquired the following:

*2 Handheld Controllers (Even though the unit comes with 1)
*2 Nunchucks that I still have trouble pronunciating (I say numb-chucks. WTF?)
*Wii Sports which has resulted in the following: Tennis Elbow, Punched in the face, Tee'd off, Striking Out Repeatedly, and numerous homeruns.

*Wii Fit & Board
*Fat Mii in yoga clothes (I hate it when she swells!)
*I now know that I am Unbalanced and my center core leans slighty to the right. (eye roll)
*I have also found out that for right now, YOGA is not my forte. Aerobics & Strength training is fine by me. Yoga...let's just say that my balance is off...frontally. Breathing is great...it's the other stuff that sucks.

This weekend I aquired:
*Mario Kart
*2 Steering Wheel attachments for the controllers. (Unit came with 1, but we have 2 kids so...)

I'm beginning to think I just MIGHT be a Wiiii little crazy. Mmmm hmmm.

This Just Made My Day

So I'm a sap. And I'm proud of it. A client walked in today and told me that she saw previews for a new movie called "My Sister's Keeper" and that she didn't know if she'd ever be able to see it because she cried through the trailer.

Immediately my heart raced. Could it be?! The book that held me captive for a whole day and a whole night...in movie form now? The book that had me ignoring every plea for "Mommy!" and "Joy!" when it first came out, and had me buying my first ever Brand-Name box of kleenex...(you know the kind I'm talking about: aloe infused, soft for those horribly cracked, bleeding, red, sensitive noses?) and the book that I re-read at least once every few months because it has so much rapture, so much joy, so much emotion in it that it sucks you in, makes you part of it's story, and then comforts you when all seems lost.

Yep, you guessed it. It's a movie now! Yay!!!!! If anyone out there knows how to embed from youtube or whatnot, please give me the secret because embed from there doesn't work for me. BOO.

Friday: Lazy Day: List Formation.

Raindrops keep falling on my head...

1. I love the rain. It makes me smile. And remember. Lots of things.
2. Is it weird that Miley Cyrus' new song actually kinda tugs at my heart strings? Really. Miley!?
3. I bought a purple rocker shirt with Taylor Swift on it. Is this my pre-30 year old crisis? Am I regressing? Since when did I "conform"?!?!
4. I got new glasses. I love them so much I took my contacts out. Seriously. They are Esprit. When I first saw them, I fell in love with them. And since I'd never heard of "E-spree" I pronounced it E-sprit. Umm yeah. Laura, the lady helping me at the Eyeglass place, laughed.
5. I'm looking for nice but more affordable slip covers for my leather sofa. My line of work has completely mutilated my beautiful black leather. I'm ghetto-izing it with a jet black sheet set to hide the abomidable cracks and rips and tears. It literally looks like a dog got ahold of it...more than thrice. It's a tad better with the sheets but helloooo...it's covered with SHEETS. Tacky much? It works for now but I want a slip cover that doesn't cost like 200 bucks. Thanks.
6. Private Practice gave me an anxiety attack last night. I'm not even an avid watcher of it, but knew I'd have to see it from the previews. Crazy much, psychotic patient trying to carve into pregnant belly?! And they're gonna end it like this? And one more remark: GO FIGURE, COOPER!!!!!! GO FREAKING FIGURE!
7. Izzie will die next week. I'm almost positive of this fact. Almost.
8. I'm ready for Thursday, and not just because it's 1 day before Friday! Mer-Der's exchange of vows has me on the edge of my seat.
9. I LOVE LOVE LOVE these!!! Seriously, once I get my slip cover, (or a new couch), these are MINE. (It's probably cause I'm the type of nerd that actually plays scrabble on a weekly basis? could be.)
10. Oh, and btw, I am now down 36 lbs and counting. Also, 9.3/4 inches all over. I'm excited. Let's hope I can keep this up. (It would be 46, but I gained 10 back in muscle mass. Yay & boo at the same time!)
11. I'm getting the "I want another baby" hormones again. WTF? I'm 28 with a 5 and 7 year old. Do I really seriously need another baby? Maybe so...It's probably the weight loss messing with my hormone levels.
12. It makes me giggle knowing that Matthew Gray Gubler does the voice of Simon on "Alvin & the Chipmunks" The Movie. You will not get this if you don't watch Criminal Minds.
