About Me

My photo
I'm in my 20's. Sometimes I'm okay with that, sometimes I'm not. I have 2 daughters. I have a wonderful man! I'm from the East Coast. Oklahoma has tornados, NOT beaches!! I write. I read. I work hard. I'm addicted to blogger & facebook. Hmm weird! I hate drama, although I am very dramatic. I love pink, shoes, Celine Dion, and Coach purses. This is new to me, because I have always been a tomboy!

Castle of Muskogee//Halloween

On our way to the Amish Buffet. I think they serve the same thing every day. I saw some little boy put his finger in his nose and then in the Peach Cobbler. Gross.

The girls thought that this lady was a real ghost. I thought that was funny. I accidently blinded her with this picture. Then Natalie felt the need to try to dance while walking to get in line. She was swaying her hips and swinging her arms, singing whatever song was playing under the tent at the time. I think it was Monster Mash.

Inside the Casa De Muerte, where Natalie was screaming so hard she caught the heart of 2 witches/vampires. She crocodile teared her way into some extra candy, and a few irridescent Sonic toys that were supposed to be bones. The King & Queen above scared the bejesus out of Olivia. She was screaming "BONES! BONES!" like a maniac.

My kids are SOOOO going to be screwed up! HAHAHA

After the 2 haunted houses and on our way to the Trail of Tears. All in all we had a great night! Now we are all psyched up for HALLOWEEN!!!!

Olivia: Ariel "The Little Mermaid" & Natalie: Storybook Witch.

Don't they look so cute from behind???

Olivia was trying to convince Natalie to let her (Olivia) ring the doorbell at the next house.

Natalie didn't agree.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!

In My 20's...Pt. 8: "Tequila"

One tequila, 2 tequila, 3 tequila, FLOOR!
Since my last 20's post, I have just REALLY wanted to share with you the proper way to take a shot of tequila. Yes, I realize I'm supposed to be GROWING UP here but today is NOT that day.
What you will need:
  • Tall shot glass (caballito)
  • Lime
  • Salt
  • Blindfold
  • Partner
  • Tequila (Preferably Jose Cuervo)
The order of a Tequila Shot is simple:
  • Lick it.

Lick the soft spot of the back of your hand between your finger and your thumb to get it wet. Shake the salt onto the wet spot and then when ready, lick it off with 1 big lick.

  • Shoot it.

With the salt still on your tongue, shoot the tequila. Yes, the ENTIRE SHOT. Don't sip it like a pansy. Fill up the caballito and drain it quickly.

  • Bite/Suck it.

After swallowing, bite into the lime and suck the juice out til dry.

  • Shake it.

While sucking on the lime, have your partner put the blindfold on you and pull it tight behind your head. Then, for a minute straight, your partner is to shake your head from side to side and up and down and all around. ONLY do this for a minute, no more, no less.

Trust me, friends. This works and it's FUN!

In My 20's...Pt. 7: "Being"

I think that...

  1. random hook ups are cheap.

  2. friends with benefits is over-rated.

  3. change sucks and should be outlawed.

  4. people are a lot more selfish than I originally thought.

  5. the people I don't talk to on a daily basis are more reliable than those I do.

  6. starting at the bottom is scary. And I REALLY don't want to do that.

  7. boundaries are good and healthy.

  8. getting wasted isn't as fun as it use to be.

  9. decisions seem to be getting harder and there are more of them.

  10. a "How To" manual would have been ideal at birth, bookmarked at "In Your 20's..."

In my 20's I:

  1. got 3 degrees.

  2. learned how to properly take a shot of tequila.

  3. went to work still drunk.

  4. had 2 kids.

  5. started my own business.

  6. learned a new culture: the deaf culture. this was a SHOCK.

  7. learned 2 new languages.

  8. overcame obstacles.

  9. had 2 kids.

  10. got married & divorced.

In My 20's...Pt 6: "Success"

I.AM.SUCCESSFUL.

That's not to rub it in your face. It's just a fact. I am apparently a successful person. I have a few degrees, and I am mastering success in something totally different than what my educational expertise belies.

How am I successful?

People look up to me.

People take my advice. WOW!

The advice works!! Double WOW!

People want me to speak to COLLEGE STUDENTS! TRIPLE WOW!

People pay ME to provide a service.

People trust me with really important things.

What do I get out of all of this?

I feel important.

I feel secure.

I feel smart

I feel good about myself.

I feel bold.

I feel elite.

Yes, my 20 something year old friends, those are the feelings of SUCCESS.

Garden of FIRE!

We took the girls to eat at Tokyo Garden tonight. We were all dressed up anyway (my brother got married today. Congrats to him and Laura.) and it seemed like a good night to go eat somewhere fun...and different for the girls!

Natalie and Olivia ordered Chicken Plates. But Olivia ended up eating most of Garland's seafood and Natalie tried to swipe all my scallops. Um. NO!

The girls enjoyed the Fire show and the chef was better than the people sitting across from us. At least our chef didn't crack every egg he tossed. My favorite joke is "Anyone like egg roll? Get it? Egg.Roll.?" and "See butta-flyyyy?" (butter.fly. as he flips it into the air onto the grill.) I'm easily amused. Whatever.

There are SNAKES in my....

YARD!

Ew, ew, ewwwwwwwwww!

I went out to move some things around this AM so that I could let the kids go play. I made the mistake of picking up the plastic turtle sand box (no sand in it, just soccer/basket balls) and there were SNAKES!

3 UGLY UGLY SNAKES!

And they started "warning" me to stay away by showing me their bellies. So, what does my panicked self do?

I went and got my camera!

In My 20's...Pt. 5: "Realization"

I don't like realizations. Especially realizations that tell me to do stuff I don't want to do. Like

A. Balance my checkbook. -- I HATE numbers!

B. Keep up with the receipts. -- I always forget to fill them out, & never put them up.

C. Get the buckets full of summer clothes. -- OUT of the girl's room.

D. Taxes. -- I'm So not ready for them.

E. Consistentcy. -- Sometimes, I'm just not in the mood to deal.

Life is just one big huge bucket of poop laced stew. Takes 9 months to bake, 18 years to boil, and then just when it's time to turn it to simmer, that's when it all starts to pop and bubble over the edge of the pot. It'll take a lot of TP to clean up that mess.
