About Me

My photo
I'm in my 20's. Sometimes I'm okay with that, sometimes I'm not. I have 2 daughters. I have a wonderful man! I'm from the East Coast. Oklahoma has tornados, NOT beaches!! I write. I read. I work hard. I'm addicted to blogger & facebook. Hmm weird! I hate drama, although I am very dramatic. I love pink, shoes, Celine Dion, and Coach purses. This is new to me, because I have always been a tomboy!

Premiere Update...(drumroll please...)

9.20.06. Criminal Minds Premiere...HOW FREAKING AWESOME was THAT? I was on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE. NIGHT.

I like the psychological mind. It intrigues me. Behavioral Analysis (that's CM's specialty) is right up my ally. I'll tell you though...they are lucky to have their little "dorky" bookworm on their team...they wouldn't get half their "unsubs" caught without him! See how important us "know it all bookworms/literature buffs" will be once adolesence ceases and adulthood begins? You'll regret making fun of us in school!!! hahaha...Can't wait for next week's episode!
9.21.06 Grey's Anatomy/CSI:
OK...I have committed a heinous and gruesome crime: I have betrayed loyalties beyond my imagination...tonight, for the first time in however many years I have been tuning in to CSI:, I was forced to choose between the two shows I heart the most: CSI: and Grey's Anatomy. I shamlessly and without hesitation chose Grey's.
First Rant: WHAT where they thinking putting Grey's Anatomy on at the same time CSI: is on? I HEART THURSDAY NIGHTS FOR CSI:! How dare they turn it into some VOTERS POLL...some RATINGS THING! I mean, seriously, that is like setting a chocolate cake and a carrot cake in front of me and saying...now, you can only choose ONE. I LOVE chocolate...but maybe I was feeling carroty at the moment?...
Second Rant: I SO NEED TIVO. I can't watch CSI: on Thursday nights now...and I can't watch the repeat episode of Grey's on Friday nights...(Ghost Whisperer...HELLO have you NOT been keeping up?!?!) I'm thinking its time to invest!
I'm SO SORRY, CSI:....your teaser spot commercials are intriguing...but you lost to love and war...

I plead with Grey's Producers: FIND ANOTHER NIGHT!!!!!!!??????

9.22.06 Ghost Whisperer
As if I needed to go into detail! What an EPISODE! Poor Andrea...:( What the HECK was THAT ABOUT?!
Another show about the paranormal. But no ordinary show. However...I do think Melinda is a little bit TOO good...of course, she talks to and sees ghosts...but my goodness...can we see her do ANYTHING other than be a goody-two-shoes? Like maybe kick someone's ass? That would be nice.
Love the effects. Especially how someone is there...and they they aren't. Or someone walking backwards down the stairs. Or sometimes the eyes are all WHACKED out.
One ponder: When is someone going to try to enter her body to take it over? Every paranormal show has it...just waiting for it to debut...
GW is followed by the premieres of Close to Home and Numbers. Both good shows too. They were awesome premieres. I was sad to see Annabeth's husband die...(what is with all the killing off of main/recurring characters from last year? Denny, Andrea, Jack,...etc.*shaking head*)

Let's Get On With It...

I am too freakin' excited! Yeah. It's a week of PREMIERES!!!

CSI: MIAMI
By chance, Garland was flipping thru the channels on Monday night and found CSI:Miami's SEASON PREMIERE! OMG!!! I was so busy worrying about Grey's Anatomy, CSI: (original), and Desperate Housewives (I know, I AM A FREAK for that one) I didn't even think about when CSI:Miami's SP was going to be on. Thank goodness for channel surfers! So, It was a little disappointing...I mean, what Season Premiere is REALLY everything they play it up to be? But it was allright. Too bad for H's brother Ray and Ray, Jr. They need those vato's to stay outta Rio. BTW, I know most people can't stand Horatio Caine on the show, and sometimes I have to roll my eyes at him myself, but I really like the whole "BAD ASS" role David Caruso plays. Call me FREAK!!!

CRIMINAL MINDSCriminal Minds Premieres TONIGHT (Wednesday)!!! WHEEEEE!!! Not really much to say about this one except that I love this show as well. My goodness, where WILL I find time to watch all these kick ass shows??? I guess it's about time I joined the times and invested in TIVO??

CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION

My beloved show, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation premieres tommorrow night (Thursday) at 8pm. My bones are rattling in anticipation! Can't. Wait. Gonna. Freak. I love all that scientific mumbo jumbo they rattle off. Then when I'm quoting the show, I can pretend I'm smart. (since for the most part, I am smart...lol) I've been watching CSI for a few years now. I didn't start watching it from the beginning, I thought it was stupid and a waste of time, but around season 3 I began watching regularly and then at night I'd catch up on the previous seasons by watching reruns. What's up with all the black attire in the photos???

GREY'S ANATOMY
Grey's Anatomy premieres tomorrow night as well. After CSI:. hehe! I'm itching, waiting for it, yet wondering how the hell the premiere is already here. It's like, yesterday I was pissed off because Grey's Anatomy was having their finale (which I missed, btw...:( yeah. Missed!) and now here they are having their premiere.Who else thinks Meredith and Dr. "McDreamy" should SO BE TOGETHER!? What's up with him trying to get back with that red-headed chick...his WIFE!? Pffft, she's pretty and all, and i like her as an actress but OMG...GO BACK TO NEW YORK already and let Derek and Meredith get all hot and heavy again!!!

Maybe we should like, make a night of it and have fajitas and popcorn and CHOCOLATE, (but mainly chocolate) Thursday night!?!? Call me or e mail me and let me know!!!

GHOST WHISPERER

Friday night is the Premiere of what I think is the absolute BEST show on TV, Ghost Whisperer. I am a fan of the supernatural, and I never missed an episode of season 1. I am hooked completely. No doubt about it. I have never been a Jennifer Love Hewitt fan. I didn't really like her that much in Party of Five, I definitely didn't agree with critics who said she was the next Audrey Hepburn...(pretty big shoes to fill in my opinion), and wasn't too crazy about the show simply because she was in it. However, this show is simply put, AWESOME. And OMFG what about the finale...who knew? WHO KNEW Andrea was DEAD?! OMG like, that was the BIGGEST freaking shock to me! I never guessed it until they were about to reveal it...NOW WHAT!!?? I can't wait to find out!!!

Fanatics...

This picture is a photo of my daughter's Advanced Bionics Cochlear Implant. The 1st photo is the actual implanted device. The 2nd is her new processor, AKA behind the ear processor, and the bottom photo is of her old back processor. I love her behind the ear processor simply because I no longer have to sew pockets into her shirts! YAY
(Side note: Olivia's processor is not this same color. I ordered her's without the showy colors so hers is simply silver.)
I have now become a fanatic. A fanatic about getting involved (like that's EVER been hard for me to do!) in not only my daughter's therapy, but in the entire Auditory Experience.
This past Monday and Tuesday, I attended a Hearts for Hearing Conference held at the TTC Riverside Campus. I have met so many neat people and learned so many new things about Cochlear Implants and Auditory Verbal Therapy and the different organizations that fund and associate with them. I am excited! Speaking about my daughter, Olivia, is something I love to do. I love talking about something as controversial as a Cochlear Implant and seeing the look of awe and disbelief in people's expressions when they realize that this HEARING, SPEAKING child in front of them was born profoundly deaf in both ears.
How awesome it is to hear Olivia speak in clear sentences. Even when she is angry and yelling, there is a part of me that is thinking..."My god...4 years ago, I thought she would never hear, muchless, speak!"
Children who are born deaf or hard of hearing can learn to listen and talk. My daughter is proof of that. So, that is why I have posted all those nice new links in the "Links Section" of my blog. You could really learn a lot if you just take a click...I mean, peek!
Thanks for the support!

In Remembrance of...

It's been 5 years since one of the most beautiful skylines in America was robbed of twin towers that housed thousands of employees, their children, and clients.
This day will forever be etched in my mind. I'll never forget the morning of September 11th, 2001 as I made my way to work as I would on any other day. At the time, I was a Kindergarten lead teacher at a local child development center and was on the verge of being late. Hurriedly, I zipped down 31st Street and to my dismay got caught in school zone traffic that forced my speed down and after that, I hit a red light. I wasn't into listening to much radio at the time, as I'd just purchased a brand new CD that I was constantly listening to in my car. As I'm sitting at the red light and a crossing guard passes in front of me to let a little boy cross the street to get to school, I see a dark blue vehicle whiz past me at a speed well above 25, even 55 mph, just as the boy steps onto the crossing lane from the curb. The boy, just a young 1st grader, flew through the air onto the sidewalk and I see as I throw my door open, the blue car pulls into the nearest parking lot, obviously scared and very aware of what she had done. I rushed to the boy's side, calling 911 on my cell and he's crying as the woman runs up to make sure he's okay.

I trudge into work, 45 minutes late after waiting for ambulance arrival and being interviewed by the police before they arrested to woman. I am about to tell them about my morning and explain my tardiness when I notice an eerie silence about the front office. No one was there. I look into my boss' office and was hushed by my superior with the wave of a hand. I jokingly asked what they were watching and as the question left my mouth, I saw a plane crash into a tower. Everyone gasped and some started crying, explaining to me that this was the 2nd plane that crashed into the World Trade Center Towers. It wasn't until much later that it was official that it was a terrorist attack.

Everything that day was affected, and has remained affected since. Economy, safety, flying, travelling, trust in our government officials. The War on Terror. Al Quaida. Guerillas. Our soldiers, our men being beheaded and having it splashed on the TV screen/internet. Bin Laden. The Hunt for a Madman: Osama.

That morning was supposed to be just an ordinary day. We as citizens of this nation were unaware. I wonder, what could have been done to prevent such an atrocity? What could have been done to warn our leaders? Was there even anything that COULD have been done? Obviously this was something that was unstoppable...or was it? That is for the politicians to argue and decide. I wonder if I would be able to show the unbridled courage our fellow Americans showed when they took back their plane, challenged our enemy, and lost their lives to prevent more deaths.

September 11th, 2001 will remain a day of destruction, a day of decay, a day of death to those who experienced it firsthand. September 11th, 2001, will always remind me of the little boy who was nearly killed by a woman hurriedly putting on makeup while talking on her cell phone and running a red light in a school zone.

But September 11th, 2001 will also always remind me of what it means to be an American, what is expected of me as an American, and to be proud that I am part of something as great as America.

To those who died this day, I salute you. You will always be remembered.

STOP...it's HURTING my ears!

I'm just going to rant here a little. Maybe a lot. I don't know. Who cares how long it takes, either you'll read it or you won't. So, here's my rant...

My rant is about Friendship. NOOOooo, not the SHOW Friends, although I posted the pic simply because it said 'friends' on it and was a nice picture to post.

What exactly is a friend? Can anyone tell me this? I don't know what you all think friendship is, but to me, friendship is more than just a casual hi there what's up kind of thing you only say once every holiday or even once a month. That is more of an aquaintance, not a friend! I thought friends were supposed to be there for you and all of that crap. I thought friends were supposed to call you too, not just the other way around. I thought friends were supposed to support you and believe in you, etc... Friends are supposed to be there in the good and the bad. They are supposed to be angry, upset, happy, sad, excited, with you or for you or at you. They are people you share things with.

So when I offer my friendship to you on a continuous basis, you need to either tell me you don't want to be friends or start doing your part of the friendship relationship!

Frankly, I am so sick and tired of hearing all you people bitch and complain on your myspace or on your blogs or in IMs or whatnot about how you don't have any friends. Take a good look in the mirror and I'm sure you'll find out why rather quickly! I am sick and tired of being the one making phone calls to say hello or see if you are OK or to just talk. I am sick and tired of being the only one to initiate any type of conversation whether it be phone, e mail, text, or IM. I'm done trying to offer myself to being your friend. You complain that you have no friends, then when someone tries to offer friendship there's no returned calls, you're ALWAYS too busy to talk at the moment, or you have decided that you want to ignore people to be with "your man" whatever that is or means.

I really don't care if some of you are upset about my rant. Some of you know I'm not talking specifically about you and if you are reading this and you think..."is she referring to me?" then I probably freaking AM REFERRING to YOU.

So, if you want a friend, be a friend.

If you don't want friends or attempts at friendships, I have one thing to say:

STOP BITCHING ABOUT IT!

Of course...more PICS!
